Santa Ana police release sketch of suspect in sexual assault of 15-year-old

Santa Ana police released a composite sketch of an individual they say sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl at her home on June 10.

The suspect is described as a tall, lean build, Hispanic man with buzzed hair. The suspect had a beard and was wearing glasses. He was also wearing a red flannel shirt and dark jeans, police say.

Investigators say the victim's family confronted the suspect who appeared to be a transient and had an odor of alcohol.

The incident occurred in the 1000 block of North Lincoln just after midnight. The suspect broke into the victim's home and laid next to her in bed. The victim woke up and screamed for help and that's when family members sprung into action.

The suspect remains on the loose and police hope the community can help identify the person in the composite sketch. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Julio Gallardo at 714-245-8378 or email jgallardo@santa-ana.org.
