Rattlesnake bites are on the rise in California

The California Poison Control System is issuing a warning to Californians after seeing a spike in rattlesnake bites.

Poison Control says it's received about 20 calls in recent weeks about rattlesnake bites across the state.

And that number does not account for people who have sought emergency care after being bitten instead of calling the hotline number for Poison Control.
