Proposal: Gondola funded by Barry Diller could bring tourists to Hollywood Sign

Media mogul Barry Diller and his wife, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and her son, Alexander, may finance a gondola that would transport tourists from the LA Zoo to the Hollywood Sign. The project would cost from $25 to $30 million.

Neighbors have long complained about the traffic there. The city has even proposed closing an access point at Beachwood Canyon. There's nothing concrete at this point, since it's just being thrown around as an idea at the moment. The planning and review process could take years to develop and approve.
