Police looking for person who riddled convertible Bentley with bullets, leaving 1 dead
Santa Fe Springs, Calif. (FOX 11) - A shooting in Santa Fe Springs left one person dead in a convertible Bentley and another injured Thursday afternoon.
"It's generally quiet, people getting a lot of business done and then sometimes it's the wild wild west," said John Baker, who frequents the area.
Whittier police are now trying to answer why someone shot the men Thursday afternoon, sending the driver to the hospital and leaving the passenger dead.
"We don't know why they were here. What their business was to be at this particular location, we hope this was something we'll learn through this investigation," said Whittier Police Officer John Scoggins.
Police initially descended on a Norwalk Boulevard liquor store a mile away from the scene. Store employees tell us police took their surveillance footage.
"We're going to be conducting an ongoing investigation to see how if at all the market was related to this," said Scoggins.
But their primary focus is finding the mystery person who shot them.
