Police chase stolen pickup truck and arrest 2 suspects

Police today chased a stolen pickup truck from Northridge to the Reseda area, where two suspects got out and ran into a neighborhood before being arrested.

The pursuit started about 4:55 a.m. when officers saw the truck at a gas station at Van Nuys Boulevard and Moorpark Street in Northridge, said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman. The truck had been reported stolen in Oxnard.

The chase led to the general area of Kittridge Street and Vanalden Avenue, where the vehicle's two occupants got out and fled on foot, Eisenman said.

Officers took one suspect into custody, and set up a perimeter to find the second suspect, who was taken into custody after a search of the neighborhood, police said.

Their names were not immediately released.
