Carjacking suspect arrested after pursuit in East LA

A man who allegedly stole a work truck and led Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies on a pursuit through East Los Angeles on Monday has been arrested.

SkyFOX was over the scene and captured the suspect weaving in and out of lanes through city streets, swerving around multiple cars around 12:30 p.m. The driver then stopped in the middle of the street and backed up before taking off again.

Authorities attempted to deploy a spike strip around 12:35 p.m. and around two minutes later, the driver hit parked cars and then stopped near Hooper Avenue and E. 64th Street. The truck appeared to be disabled.

Several sheriff's deputies approached the truck and the man surrendered.

Authorities have not released any further information on the suspect or any charges.

It's unclear if anyone was injured.
