Person rescued from flowing river in Bell after becoming stranded
BELL, Calif. (FOX 11) - A person that became stranded in a flowing river underneath the Florence Bridge in Bell was rescued by Los Angeles County firefighters Wednesday night.
The incident happened at about 7:50 p.m. in the 5400 block of Florence Avenue.
Aerial video of the scene showed what appeared to be a man holding on to a pillar as fire crews devised a plan to rescue the person.
At one point, firefighters lowered a small raft boat but in the end, it took a firefighter to be lowered down to the stranded person for extraction.
The person was rescued just before 9 p.m. and was placed on a gurney and taken to receive medical attention.
