Pedestrian killed in Westlake District car crash

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night in the Westlake District when he was struck by a passing vehicle.

The incident happened in the area of West 6th Street and South Alvarado Street at about 8:30 p.m. Police believe the man was likely running to catch the bus when he was struck and killed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver stayed on scene and was cooperating with authorities.

The area is roped off as the investigation into the deadly crash continues.
