Parking permits for new Expo Line extension stations go on sale this Sunday

People planning to commute on the new Expo Line will be able to buy parking permits starting on Sunday.

Metro has designated several sections of the three parking lots for permit parking.

This gives riders first-come, first-serve between four a-m and 9 a-m weekdays.

Permits go on sale on LAMetroParking.net.

For all other parking spots, commuters can pay by phone or a smartphone app beginning may 20th, when the expo line extensions open.

Kiosks will be installed later this year.

And there are plans to install equipment that'll allow users to go online and see how many parking spaces are available.
