Omarosa: Pres. Trump N-word tape release likely in October

Omarosa Manigault Newman said she's heard a tape recording where President Donald Trump uses the N-word.

Soon, she said, all of us will hear it as well. "I believe the people who have it will release it around the midterms," she told Elex Michaelson on 'Good Day L.A.'

Manigault Newman has said that the tape comes from the President's time as host of 'The Apprentice' on NBC.

Omarosa was a contestant on the show several times. In her book, "Unhinged," Manigault Newman said the President's team privately debated how to deal with the fall out of a potential tape's release. On 'Good Day L.A.', Omarosa said those who have the tape likely want to make it public at a moment that will inflict the most political damage on the President.

"Soon, I believe we will hear them." Manigault Newman campaigned for Mr. Trump all over the country in 2016 and then served as the Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison in the Trump Administration.

For years, she defended Mr.Trump against charges that he's a racist. "I said absolutely not, this is a man who is not racist until I heard the tape of him using the N-word," she said. "Once I heard Donald Trump say the N-word, it changed everything," she continued. "Donald Trump is unequivocally a racist."

Michaelson asked her to respond to critics that call her a disloyal opportunist. "Isn't this the land of opportunity?" she said. "The reason I wrote 'Unhinged' is to give Americans the opportunity to go inside the Oval Office, to see what it's like to go on Air Force One, to see what it's like to advise someone who has the attention span of a fruit fly."

Omarosa commented on the President's communications strategy regarding the women accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.

"He has no impulse control. I saw that with that tweet where he attacked the accuser," she said. "The President is not someone you can control or reign in. His Twitter, he uses it to weaponize his messaging." She argues that the 25th amendment should be invoked to remove President Trump from office.

"If Donald Trump is unfit to be President, more people need to be brave enough to come forward and speak up."
