Omar: A Wednesday's Child success story!

(FOX 11) - November is National Adoption Awareness Month and so we're kicking it off with a special adoption story!

Four years ago, we brought Omar to Doris Bergman's Emmy Style Lounge and Party to tell his story of his wish for a forever family.

A little over a year ago, Omar was adopted by the Villascusa family at age 19! Now a year after his adoption, and again on the red carpet, Omar and his family were invited back as VIPs at the same event where he initially advocated for himself and is now advocating for others in the foster care system.

What adoption has meant for Omar has involved special moments spent with family - from going to sporting events to celebrating with his family at birthdays and weddings, and just simply being together. Omar is in college now, and hopes to be a social worker.
