Norwalk neighborhood hit with two home invasions within an hour

NORWALK, CA (FOX 11) - Police are searching for suspects involved in two separate home invasion robberies that occurred within an hour of one another in Norwalk on Tuesday.

The first incident took place just before 1 p.m. at a home on the 12700 block of Larwin Road.

Norwalk Sheriff's Station said two black men broke into the home where a man was inside. They punch, choked and locked him in a closet.

The man had no injuries, but the suspects ran off with $450 cash and a cell phone.

The second incident took place at an apartment complex at 11916 Olive Street around 1:30 p.m.

Deputies said a woman was home when a man described as Black, pried through her door.

When he saw her, deputies said the suspect dragged her by her hair then punched her in the face.

The woman fought back and through a hammer across the room at the man who ran off without taking anything.

Neighbors told reporter, Leah Uko the woman's unit had been broke into twice before.

Despite the day's events, Norwalk Sheriff's Station said Olive Street was usually a calm, peaceful area. In the last year, reports showed one service call for a vehicle burglary had been made to the area.
