Multiple broken water mains cause flooding, road closures

CULVER CITY (CNS) - Multiple water main breaks on Sunday caused flooding and closed busy roads.

In Bel Air, at least 20 homes were still without water as of 5 p.m. Sunday. A water main break flooded streets near Thurston Avenue, a neighborhood just off of Sunset Boulevard.

Another break was reported Sunday in Culver City, which temporarily closed Washington Boulevard between Helms and Sentney avenues around 4 p.m., according to the Culver City Police Department.

Some businesses along Washington were still without water, police said. The Culver City main break was expected to be repaired by midnight.
