Motorcyclist killed in crash on transition from 118 to 210 freeway in Pacoima area

PACOIMA, Calif. (FOX 11) - A motorcyclist was killed Saturday in a crash on the transition road from the 118 freeway to the 210 freeway in the Pacoima area.

Los Angeles Fire Department says the motorcyclist fell from the motorcycle and landed on the transition road connecting the northbound 210 freeway to the westbound 118 freeway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m. and appears to have involved only the motorcyclist. No other injuries were reported. The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released.

The L.A. Mayor's Crisis Response Team is on the way to the scene to assist the crash victim's family there.

Drivers should expect heavy traffic congestion through the area and are asked to either avoid the area altogether or use alternate routes while law enforcement investigates the crash.
