Missing Loyola Marymount Student Found Safe

Austin Bruns, of Sacramento, had last been seen about 5:30 p.m. Friday, and left all of his important belongings in his dorm, according to a police officer at the LAPD's Pacific station.

The Department of Public Safety at Loyola Marymount University, which had assisted with searching the campus for Bruns, reported Saturday night that he had been found safe, but referred additional questions to the LAPD.

The young man's father, Scott Bruns, said that he and his son had argued during a telephone conversation Thursday, and after not hearing back, he flew down from their home in Sacramento.

The elder Bruns said he and his son had apologized at least once before hanging up, and despite trying to call him back several times, the film major did not answer.
