LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - This week, the City of Los Angeles' Board of Police Commissioners voted to create a new use-of-force policy which emphasizes de-escalation and the use of minimal force when dealing with violent or potentially violent situations.

The plan is to form a working group composed of the city attorney, LAPD officials and the police officers' union to come up with specific language for the policies.

The officer's union, The Los Angeles Police Protective League has concerns that the new policies could make their jobs more dangerous than they already are.

LAPD Officer Jamie McBride, a member of the LAPPL Board of Directors visits Midday Sunday to talk about the union's concerns.
