Mandatory evacuation orders issued for some Holy Fire burn areas

Mandatory evacuation orders were issued Thursday for areas in the Holy Fire burn zone ahead of a storm expected to hit Southern California.

In Riverside County , authorities issued mandatory evacuations for the following areas:

In Orange County , the sheriff's department has issued voluntary evacuations for the following areas due to potential flooding and debris flows.

Authorities are asking residents with large animals to follow their personal plans to move their animals before the rainfall arrives.

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch on Wednesday for areas in and around the Holy Fire burn scar from Thursday morning to Thursday afternoon and says periods of heavy showers are expected to persist for several hours and could produce one to two inches of rain.

Rainfall rates of one half inch per hour could occur during this time.
