Man suspected of pushing teen onto tracks dies after arrest

A suspect was arrested Wednesday after allegedly pushing an unidentified 14-year-old boy onto railroad tracks at a Metro Red Line station in downtown Los Angeles. The man suspected of the assault died after police arrested him after another incident not far away.

The incident occurred at about 9:15 a.m. At Fifth and Hill Streets, according to the LAPD. No train was at the location at the time, and there was no indication that the victim was injured.

The suspect got into a fight with some construction workers nearby and then suffered a medical emergency while being detained by police.

He died later at a hospital.
