LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A man was shot in the head Monday in downtown Los Angeles, and died from his wound as the suspect remained at-large, authorities said.
The shooting was reported about 1:55 a.m. around 6th and S. Los Angeles streets, Sgt. K. Ahlemeir of the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Station said.
The victim, a man in his 30s who has not yet been identified, was unresponsive at the scene and paramedics rushed him to a hospital for treatment, Ahlemeir said.
The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, Sgt. D. Phillips of the LAPD's Central Station said.
Officers secured the crime scene for further investigation, he said.
Witnesses saw a man running away from the area after the shooting, Ahlemeir said. The motive for the shooting was not known.
