Man Killed In Gang-Related Shooting At North Hollywood Car Wash
NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - The Coroner's Office released the name of a man Sunday who was shot dead at a car wash in North Hollywood.
The shooting victim was identified as Brian Pleytez, 25, of Van Nuys, said Coroner's Lt. Fred Corral.
The shooting attack was gang-related, said Los Angeles police officer Mike Lopez of the Media Relations Section.
Police were dispatched to reports of a fight at the car wash, on Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Victory Boulevard, at about 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Lopez said.
Officers en route were told that a man in a black Toyota Camry was driving away scene of the shooting. They stopped him on Laurel Canyon Boulevard, and he was arrested on suspicion of murder, Lopez said.
A gun was recovered. The suspect's name was not released.
Pleytez, suffering from several gunshots to the upper torso, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Coroner's Officer.
