Man in custody after being shot while driving toward Montebello officers
MONTEBELLO, Calif. - A man who was shot and wounded by Montebello police was out of the hospital but in police custody today after driving a vehicle that may have been involved in a homicide at officers, authorities said.
The officer-involved shooting occurred about 1 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South 10th Street, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
Montebello police located a vehicle that may have been involved in a\homicide Saturday, it was reported.
The suspect was struck once in the lower body, treated at a hospital for his wound and was being detained pending further investigation, Koerner said.
The suspect's name and age were not yet released.
Sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating the officer-involved shooting.
