Man fatally injured after falling from 7th floor of building in Glendale, injuring pedestrians below

Police said that a man either fell or jumped from the 7th floor of a building in Glendale on Tuesday, landing on pedestrians below.

Authorities responded to The Americana at Brand shopping center in Glendale on April 2, located in the 800 block of Americana Way. Police said that the man, who has not yet been identified, was fatally injured and died at the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Glendale Police Sgt. Dan Suttles told FOX 11 that the man landed on a father and son who were walking below at the time of the incident. The 49-year-old father was reportedly transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The child sustained minor injuries, according to Tahnee Lightfoot of the Glendale Police Department.

Police initially closed S. Central Avenue between W. Broadway and E. Colorado Street as they conducted their investigation. It has since reopened.
