Man dies after being shot, run over by vehicle in Woodland Hills

A 22-year-old man was found dead Tuesday night on a Woodland Hills street after being shot and run over multiple times, police said.

The shooting was reported about 8 p.m. in the 23000 block of Leonora Drive, near Royer Avenue, according to Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim, identified as Dexterkane Justice James, was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when he was located, Im said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sources tell FOX 11's Gigi Graciette the suspect also used the victim's own car to run him over. The incident was originally reported as a carjacking, but sources tell FOX 11 that James most likely knew the man who shot him.

The suspect fled in the vehicle, which was later found in West Hills.

The suspect was described as a Middle Eastern male, possibly in his early 20s.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Los Angeles Police Department.
