Man arrested in Santa Clarita after leading police on high-speed chase

LOS ANGELES (FOX11) - A high-speed chase came to an end in a residential neighborhood in Santa Clarita.

LAPD Foothill Division picked up the chase near Pacoima. The suspect got onto the northbound 5 freeway driving at speeds greater than 90 mph and eventually exited the freeway in the Santa Clarita area.

With their guns drawn officials cornered the suspect at a cul de sac near Creekside Dr. and Clearbank Ln.

Aerial footage from SkyFox shows the man in a white van, possibly stolen, waving his hands out the window and refusing to exit the vehicle.

After a short standoff, CHP officers moved in— opening his car door and taking him into custody. It is not known if the suspect was armed.
