Long Beach Police Search For Suspect In Stabbing Of Woman

(FOX 11 / CNS) Police today investigated the stabbing death of a 25-year-old woman who was found laying on a sidewalk in Long Beach, authorities
said today.

The woman was found laying on the sidewalk in the 5500 block of Long Beach Boulevard about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, said Long Beach police Lt. Mark
Coble.

"Our officers responded to a battery call that was occurring on the sidewalk where the woman was found," Coble said. "They found the woman
unresponsive and initiated life-saving procedures."

The woman was then transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her name was withheld pending family notification.

"The woman was stabbed in the upper chest," Coble said, adding that a male was seen running from the scene by witnesses.

The motive for the attack was unknown.
