LA's Most Wanted: The unsolved Pomona Freeway murder of Angela Gonzales
(FOX 11) - The unsolved murder of Angela Gonzales is a freeway driver's worst nightmare.
At around 3 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2006, the 31-year-old mother of three small children was driving westbound on SR 60, the Pomona Freeway.
As Gonzales' gray, 2005 Corolla approached the Crossroads Parkway exit in the City of Industry, a fast-moving black Ford F-150 pick-up truck with big wheels and a lift kit pulled alongside her. Someone on the passenger side of the truck shot and wounded Gonzales. She lost control of the Corolla, but a passenger was able to pull it over and stop.
With the help of doctors and nurses at the Los Angles County-USC Medical Center, Gonzales fought for her life but lost the battle five days later.
There were several drivers on the freeway who saw what happened and where the Ford pick-up went have the shots were fired at Gonzales' car. This is also the kind of crime that the people in the Ford pick-up have bragged about with their families and friends.
For the sake of Gonzales' children who are still very young, someone should finally break these years of silence and tell investigators what they know, even if they share the information anonymously.
Information that seems insignificant to someone who saw the attack could be a piece of evidence that helps to identify the people in the black Ford F-150.
Information can be called in to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Anonymous calls are encouraged.
Anonymous calls are also welcome at Crime Stoppers: 1-800-222-TIPS.
