LA's Most Wanted: Police seek hit-and-run driver who killed man, 78, in wheelchair

Shih Siang Ho was a hard working man who was described by his family as strong willed, honest and independent.

That probably explains why at the age of 78, the Alhambra resident still insisted on getting around his neighborhood on his own in a wheelchair.

At about 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, he was found dead in the Sixth Street underpass at Ramona Road in Alhambra with his wheelchair. Alhambra Police Department traffic investigators found that he had been hit by a car and the driver left him there to die.

The driver's car probably has minor to moderate damage on the front end on the passenger side. There's a possibility that the collision was an accident and that the driver might not have been criminally responsible, but by running away, the driver broke the law.

Anyone with information can contact the Alhambra Police Department at (626) 570-5119. Persons wishing to be anonymous have several options. They can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. They can text a tip to CRIMES (274637), including the letters TIPLA at the beginning of the text message.
