LA's Most Wanted: 12-year-old girl gunned down in 2006

Janet Altamirano was just 12-years-old when she was gunned down in her neighbor's yard on east 117th Street near Mona Boulevard in the Willoughbrook District of Southern California.

On Nov. 2, 2006, deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were doing a follow-up investigation on an earlier murder, when gunmen shot at them from across the street.

Miss Altamirano was treated at the scene by paramedics, but she died of her wounds. A 15-year-old friend was also wounded but she survived.

Anyone with knowledge about the killer's identity should call Detectives Traci Gonzales or Richard Tomlin at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau: (323) 890-5500.
