Large water main break damages Northridge home

Northridge water main break

A home was damaged and left behind a massive crater.

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Part of a home is damaged after a large water main break erupted in Northridge overnight. 

Authorities were called to the area near Melvin Avenue and Chatsworth Street just before 1 a.m. 

LADWP assisted with shutting off the water. 

The extent of the damage is not yet known. 

The cause of the water main break remains under investigation.
