Large crowd gathers after a slow speed pursuit in South LA ends

A woman possibly wanted in connection with a homicide investigation was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after leading police on a slow-speed vehicle chase in the South Los Angeles area, authorities said.

The pursuit began about 11:45 a.m. near Main Street and 88th Place and ended about a half hour later near Avalon Boulevard and 43rd Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported

The woman surrendered following a brief standoff with officers after their patrol vehicles blocked the car at an intersection. A child in the car with her was taken into custody.
