LAPD ticketed dozens of drivers in some of the most dangerous intersections

The LAPD made its presence known in the San Fernando Valley Friday.

Officers ticketed dozens of drivers in some of the most dangerous intersections including Victory and Laurel Canyon Boulevards in North Hollywood.

DETF operations are "data-driven" and bring "a laser focus to locations and causes of crashes, preventable through education, enforcement, and engineering," according to an LAPD statement.

"The goal ... is to reduce the number of traffic collisions at specific intersections that have the highest incident of fatalities (and) severe or visible injuries, through education and enforcement."

The DETF is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic
Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
