LAPD release new body cam footage of officer-involved shooting in Harbor City

The Los Angeles Police Department has released new body-cam video of an officer-involved shooting that happened back in May in Harbor City.

On May 27th around 9:30 p.m. LAPD Harbor Division's Gang Enforcement Detail was responding to a 911 call of an ‘ambulance shooting' near the 1000 block of 254th street.

Once on scene officers located 23-year-old Kenneth Alonso Rosales who was armed with a rifle. Rosales took off running eastbound on 253rd street towards Petroleum ave.

Officers repeatedly ordered him to drop the rifle, when he refused, police say that's when an officer-involved shooting happened.

Rosales took off running again and officers gave chase. He ran through an apartment parking area where additional shots were fired by officers, LAPD Captain Gisselle Espinoza said.

The suspect was eventually struck by gunfire; he was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Officers located the suspect's rifle in an alleyway near Marigold and Petroleum avenues.

Rosales is being charged with murder, being an ex-con in possession of a firearm, and gang enhancements.
