LAPD looking for hit-and-run suspect that left 13-year-old girl severely injured

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles police are asking the community for help locating a hit-and-run suspect that left a 13-year-old girl with severe injuries on Sept. 4.
LAPD says the girl was walking to school and began crossing the street in a marked crosswalk at Pico Boulevard and Alvarado Street when she was hit by a gray Grand Cherokee Jeep traveling northbound on Alvarado crossing Pico Boulevard.
The collision occurred at about 6:30 a.m. Police say the Jeep had license plates from another state. They say the suspect stopped his vehicle, got out, walked up to the victim and apologized for hitting her but then got back into his car and drove away without helping the victim and identifying himself.
Police describe the suspect as a black male adult in his 30s with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 6-feet 2-inches tall and weighing about 270 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black cap, gray shirt, and black shoes.
The victim is in stable condition.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the suspect's identification, apprehension, and conviction or other court resolution.
