LAPD: Boy sexually assaulted by man who attacked him at church

The LAPD is on the hunt for a man who sexually assaulted and possibly raped a 13-year-old boy at a church.

On March 17, at around 3:30 pm, LAPD says the boy and his family attended an event at a church near the 1700 block of Cesar E. Chavez Avenue.

When the boy went upstairs to use the restroom, a man approached him from behind and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

LAPD says the man dragged the boy out of the restroom and tried to put him in a storage room.

The boy lost consciousness as the man tried to rip his shirt apart.

Two hours later, the boy was found unconscious in a secluded stairwell. He woke up and complained of pain to his rectum.

The suspect fled in an unknown direction.

He is described as a black male with a bald or shaved, beard, light colored eyes, possibly green.

He was last seen wearing a yellow long sleeve T-shirt, light blue jeans with designer tears, and red Timberland boots with light tan colored soles.

Anybody with information is asked to call LAPD's detective Sandra Lopez at 323-342-8997.
