Landlord Armed With Crossbow Barricades Himself Inside West Hills Home

WEST HILLS (CNS) - An angry landlord armed with a crossbow and a Molotov cocktail who had barricaded himself in a home in West Hills for nearly five
hours surrendered tonight. The standoff ended without incident or injuries around 10 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Eric Eppolito said.

Police were sent to 22500 Criswell St. at 5:10 p.m., said Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section. A team of sharpshooters was on scene as was a bomb squad, because of the Molotov cocktail, Lopez said.

When police arrived, the landlord was threatening a tenant with the crossbow. He saw police and went inside the home. "Hopefully he will come out," Lopez said.
