Lake Arrowhead community pushes for ‘Santa's Village' reopening

The famed 'Santa's Village' in Lake Arrowhead...could re-open! Check out an old commercial of Santa's Village from the 80's! (see video below)

The park opened in 1955 (supposedly before Disneyland opened in Anaheim) as an alternative to the other year closed almost 20-years ago in 1998.

Some developers in the Lake Arrowhead community of Skyforest bought the property with a plan of turning it into 'SkyPark at Santa's Village.' So far only about 30 of the 200 total acres have been developed, leaving room for the building of campgrounds, zip lines, mountain biking trails and other seasonal fun. In the meantime, they have asked San Bernardino County to give out a temporary use permit to operate the park.

The project manager says he hopes he'll be able to open Santa's Village the way everyone remembers it. We should know if the permit gets denied or not, in the next 2 weeks. The reopening of Santa's Village could mean an additional 300 seasonal jobs in the area - including the casting for additional Santas.
