Police chase: 'Armed and dangerous' suspect taken into custody in South LA
LOS ANGELES - A suspect described by authorities as "armed and dangerous" was taken into custody following a high-speed police chase on surface streets through South Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.
Aerial images from SkyFOX showed the suspect driving at high speeds on surface streets and narrowly missing crashing into other vehicles.
Once the suspect entered the intersection of E. Slauson and S. Central avenues in South LA's Florence neighborhood, he crashed into a pickup truck.
The suspect then attempted to make a run for it and within seconds, he was tackled by multiple officers with the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect resisted arrest but was subsequently taken into custody.
SkyFOX images showed the innocent driver hit by the pursuit suspect able to get out of his car, along with a passenger also exiting the vehicle.
It's unclear if anyone was injured.
