Iconic Marilyn Monroe dress and more to go for auction in LA

Many iconic items worn and owned by Marilyn Monroe will be up for auction this week at Julien's Auctions on La Cienega Blvd. in LA.

The auction will be held Thursday- Saturday and will include such items as the dress that Monroe wore in 1962 when she serenaded President John F. Kennedy with a birthday song at a Democratic fundraiser.

The flesh-colored dress is even more iconic due to the fact that the fundraiser marks one of Monroe's final public appearance before she died less than three months later. It is expected to go for $3 million or more.

The auction is open to the public and will include jewelry, other dresses and even food recipes.

Admission is $25 a person and all the admission proceeds will go to the Downtown Women's Center.
