Hot prowlers caught on camera burglarizing Hollywood Hills home

The Los Angeles Police Department is hoping to identify and arrest two suspects who were caught on camera burglarizing an elderly victim’s home.

The incident happened on October 4, 2019 around 5:30 a.m., on the 1800 block of North Crescent Heights in the Hollywood Hills.

Surveillance video shows a man and woman enter the victim’s driveway in a dark colored BMW. The driver then exits the vehicle and approaches the front door of the house with bolt cutters in hand.

Police say the suspect used the bolt cutters to remove a lock box containing a key to the house from the front door knob. He then fled the house, only to return an hour later and use the key to enter, the police department said.

The suspect was inside the house for about two minutes while the elderly victim was sleeping. Police say the suspect took a telescope, phone and a handgun from the house; it appears the female suspect entered the house but didn’t steal anything.

Detectives believe the suspects may be familiar with the area. The police department says an Australian Shepard dog was with the suspects at the time of the burglary.

The male suspect is described as heavy build, approximately 30-years-old and was seen wearing a white-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. The female suspect is approximately 25-years-old and was seen wearing dark pants, a black jacket and black hat.
