Horse falls on girls in Lake View Terrace; 1 killed, 1 critically injured
LAKE VIEW TERRACE (FOX 11 / CNS) - Authorities on Wednesday identified a 12-year-old girl who was killed when a horse she and her 4-year-old sister were riding at the Lake View Terrace Recreation Center fell on them.
The younger child remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to broadcast reports.
The siblings were injured just before 8 p.m. Tuesday at or near the center at 11075 Foothill Blvd., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Yolanda Ceja died at a hospital about 8:40 p.m., the coroner's office reported. Her hometown was not immediately known.
Police told news outlets the horse bucked and fell backward on the girls.
