Frustrated resident shames commuters invading her streets

The sign planted in the yard in a once-quiet Encino neighborhood reads: "Are U REALLY SAVING TIME on this Route?????"

It's directed at the hundreds, if not thousands, of drivers using the WAZE app.

The social media app is directing drivers wanting to avoid the daily backup on the 405 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley to a new route which takes them through the Encino neighborhood on side streets. The sign was put up by a resident named Dorothy, who tells FOX 11 LA that she is "very frustrated" when she leaves her home in the morning because she can't go down the hill when leaving her driveway. Instead, she says, she has to go up the hill and around several blocks in order to get where she needs to be.

Dorothy tells us she was "thinking about calling WAZE and screaming at them", but she says she realized that the freeways in the area are just not handling the traffic. So, she decided to talk directly to the drivers, shaming them and asking them to question whether their detour is good for their commute.

Dorothy's sign may not deter the drivers from invading her neighborhood, but it's getting a lot of buzz on social media.
