Last month, Five Guys celebrated its 40th birthday with a buy one burger, get one free (BOGO) offer. Now, Five Guys has brought back the BOGO offer – the 40th After Party — running through Thursday, March 12.

That could be good news for burger fans who are feeling the pinch from inflation.

Big picture view:

Toast, the restaurant point-of-sale company, released their February Menu Price Monitor this week. The monthly report tracks the price of hamburgers, coffee, burritos, beer, and chicken wings.

February's report revealed that the median price of a hamburger was $14.64, up only 0.1% from January but up 2.7% since this time last year.

"The recent rise suggests that restaurants may be finally raising menu prices to offset some of the rising beef costs," Toast's Brian Koerber noted.

The other items were mostly up about the same amount except for burritos, which were down 0.1% but still more expensive than last year.

How to get the Five Guys 40th After Party BOGO

About that burger deal:

Five Guys says there are two ways to join the After Party: order online at FiveGuys.com or through the Five Guys app

To order, sign in to your existing account or create a free one to redeem and purchase any burger at the regular menu price and receive one (1) free burger of equal or lesser value, using the code FGAFTERPARTY. Limit of one redemption per reward code. Taxes may apply. Delivery or other fees may apply.

The offer is valid through Thursday, March 12, 2026, at participating Five Guys locations in the United States and Canada. This offer is not valid for in-store orders.

What they're saying:

"Forty years is a long time, and the outpouring of support for our 40th birthday reminded us why we love what we do," Five Guys founder Jerry Murrell said.

The backstory:

Five Guys was founded in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell told their sons they either had to go to college or start a business. The boys chose business and opened a small carry-out spot in Arlington, Va.  Forty years later, Five Guys, named after the five Murrell sons, remains a family business with 1,500 locations in the U.S.
