Fight between neighbors leaves man dead in Van Nuys, police say
VAN NUYS, Calif. (FOX 11) - Police were investigating Friday after a fight between neighbors in the San Fernando Valley left a man dead.
Los Angeles police responded around 9:30 p.m. to a duplex in the 7400 block of Woodley Avenue in Van Nuys on a report of a fight between two adult men. Witnesses told police the suspect lived in the front residence and had a long-running dispute with his neighbor, who lived in the back residence of the building.
The suspect, believed to be about 20-years-old, allegedly broke into the victim's home and began assaulting him, police said.
The 54-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities were awaiting an official report from the coroner's office to determine the exact cause of death.
Homicide detectives continued to search for the suspect Friday morning, who fled the area.
