Ex-rap Mogul 'Suge' Knight Back In Court In Murder Case

From Sandra Endo:

Marion "Suge" Knight appeared in criminal court for his arraignment but before it got to that his legal team requested another bail reduction. Last time he appeared in court the judge already reduced his bail from 25 million to 10 million. This new bail reduction request will be decided by a different judge at the end of May.

His attorney Matthew Fletcher says, "we want it reduced to 5 million, it affects his family."

Victim Terry Carter's family was there and says they will hold a vigil tonight at 8:00pm at 142nd and Central Ave. His daughter Mekaya Carter says "the focus is on the victim, my father, we want justice and we want peace and calm throughout the trial."

The trial is set to begin July 7th.

(FOX 11 / AP) Thursday's hearing will be the first time Knight returns to court since Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen ruled earlier this month that he should face trial on murder, attempted-murder and hit-and-run charges.

The co-founder of Death Row Records is accused of running over two men outside a Compton burger stand in January.

The 50-year-old's attorney has said his client was fleeing an ambush when he struck the men. He has already pleaded not guilty but must be arraigned again after Coen's decision.

Knight's health has become an issue, and he has been hospitalized five times after court hearings.
