Downtown weekend street closures for Metro Gold Line construction

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A planned street closure in the heart of downtown Los Angeles this weekend is sure to bring some major headaches for drivers.

Starting Friday night, 1st and Alameda streets will be closed as crews conduct preparatory work for the construction of the Regional Connector Tunnel and work on the relocation of Metro Gold Line track and utilities.

The 1st Street closure will extend from Central Avenue to Vignes Street; the Alameda Street closure will extend from Temple Street to 3rd Street.

The closures will start at 9 p.m. Friday and end at 4 a.m. Monday.
