Domestic dispute turned 20-hour SWAT standoff ends without incident

A male suspect who barricaded himself in his French Valley home has finally turned himself in to Riverside Country Sheriff's deputies after a 20-hour police standoff.

A SWAT team surrounded the property on Nightingale Street near Winchester Avenue on Wednesday morning around 11:07am which initially began with a domestic disturbance call.

Special weapons deputies set-off several flashbang grenades and gas cannisters in an effort to get the suspect to surrender, but the man remained holed up in the residence.

Nearby residents have been told to leave their homes as the standoff continued into it's second day.

FOX 11 is receiving unconfirmed reports that the male suspect is currently in training with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

No injuries have been reported and the standoff concluded without incident.
