Dog Rescued After Falling 200 Feet From Cliff in San Gabriel Mountains

A dog owner's worst nightmare. Their dog running away and slipping down a hillside. The dog and owner walking along Eaton canyon hiking trail Tuesday.

The dog whose name is Angel gets loose....Falling approximately 200 feet down a canyon. Animal control and the LA sheriffs responding to this challenging rescue.

Crews struggling with calming the dog,but then, a rescuer securing a special harness onto the dog.

Moments later...The rescuer and dog slipping another 5-10 feet down the canyon. Another rescuer climbing down to assist. Reversing the strategy, the dog and two rescuers climbing down to safety at the bottom of the canyon.

Angel is doing just fine with only a scratch on the nose.
