Since the highly anticipated opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in Anaheim last month, certain items sold or given away at the Star Wars land ended up online almost immediately on auction sites like eBay.

Star Wars fans love to collect rare items and re-sell, but the issue is the selling of items that were never meant to be removed from that area of the park.

According to an article in the Orange County Register, 'The "free" collectibles in Disneyland's new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge that didn't have a price tag and weren't nailed down have found their way to cyberspace with many of the five-finger discount items showing up on the secondary market.'

For example, a 'rare' pilot assignment card for the ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, was listed at $400.

The O.C. Register states in the article that Oga's Cantina was the hardest hit. Their drink coasters became a wildly popular collector's item and were re-sold online at $10 per coaster. Other items sold online from the cantina were laminated menus, mugs, visitor cards, glassware, maps and metal sporks.

The author says, 'as a result, many of the pilfered and hoarded souvenirs are no longer available in the new Star Wars land.'

One of the most popular items to resell is the Star Wars land exclusive Legacy Lightsabers. Those are sold in Galaxy's Edge for about $100 to $200 but re-sold for hundreds more on eBay.

The opening of Galaxy's Edge in Anaheim began May 31.

The Star Wars land is expected to open at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on August 29.
