Crews knock down house fire in Pico-Union
LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles firefighters battled a home fire that broke out in the Pico-Union area Tuesday night.
The house fire was reported around 10 p.m. on the 1700 block of S. New England Street near the intersection of Venice Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.
Heavy smoke was seen billowing from the one-story single-family home. An adjacent home appeared to start catching on fire as well.
It took 38 firefighters 21 minutes to extinguish the fire. The Los Angeles Fire Department said crews "conducted simultaneous interior fire attack and vertical ventilation."
One adult person was treated for non-life threatening burn injuries, LAFD said.
No other injuries were reported.
No further details were immediately known. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
