Community raises more than $380k for paletas salesman
FOX 32 CHICAGO - A community is rallying around a 90-year-old paletas salesman on the Near West Side.
A total amount of $385,290 has been raised so far for 90-year-old Fidencio Sanchez.
DNAinfo Chicago says he retired for a bit, but when his daughter died, he went back to work.
Sanchez has spent his whole life selling the paletas.
A GoFundMe started by the community had a goal of $3,000 and raised $110,000 on the first day alone.
